The Glory of God over El Paso, TX

I would like to speak of my interactions with Pastor Eddie Lee, senior pastor at Harvest Christian Center in El Paso who died on February 5th, 2022, and how God moved through these interactions.

In February of 2020, after just starting to attend Harvest a month earlier, I decided to “dive head-first” into the church by attending the men’s retreat.  I had had a great experience with the Men’s Group at Cornerstone in Chandler, AZ, a few years before when living there, so I hoped for a similar experience.  At this men’s retreat, we spent 2 days in Ruidoso, NM, and I got to know a number of men in the church. I met and spent a couple of hours talking with Pastor Lee, heard his testimony and the history of the church, and asked about the baptism of the Spirit. That night, during worship, Pastor Lee and Pastor Tim Allen put hands on me and prayed and I spoke in tongues and was baptized in the Holy Spirit.

Fast forward about 8 months.  In October 2020, there was a prayer walk in downtown El Paso on a Saturday morning to pray for America ahead of the election. I ended up walking with Pastor Lee (just him and I) through downtown El Paso, and we prayed and prophesied over city hall, the federal courthouse, and El Paso itself, declaring things like “Justice will be served” and “God will save America”. After walking a while, we came back together as a group of 30-or-so church members and said some group prayer. Before everyone left, someone came up and asked Pastor Lee a question. They asked, “When are you going to step down, and who will become the lead pastor?” Pastor Lee was very gracious but said, “I’m feeling pretty good still, I’d like to continue serving for a good while longer.”

I needed a ride and was going to order an Uber, but Pastor Lee offered to give me a ride since it wasn’t too far from downtown. As we drove and talked, God put a prophetic word in my spirit for Pastor Lee, and I told him this word when we got to my destination. I said, “Pastor, the Lord has given me a prophetic word for you, if you’ll receive it.” He said, “Let’s hear it.” I said, “God tells me that you will be pastor of Harvest Christian Center until the glory of the Lord rises over America.” Pastor Lee received that with great joy, and thanked me for sharing. Of course, he continued as Senior Pastor.  So I was shocked to hear that Pastor Lee died on February 5th.

But on January 17th, a few weeks before he died, when I believe he was already in the hospital with double pneumonia, I saw the most unnaturally golden mountain (first picture above) outside my car window as my family and I were driving down I-10 westbound, between Mesa and Redd Rd. The picture is of the El Paso Franklin Mountain absolutely golden, as if it was made of gold. Who believes our God is a God of signs and wonders?!?!

I believe this was a sign to me that the glory is rising over America. This was incredibly brief, and I’ve never seen the mountain lit like this at sunset. Within about 90 seconds, my wife took a second picture of the mountain.  The second one is a view I see almost every day at sunset. but the first one looks like a mountain made of gold, straight out of heaven. I believe that the glory of the Lord is rising over America, and many of the things Pastor and I prophesied over America on our prayer walk will come to pass in the days ahead, just like this prophecy of the Lord was fulfilled before Pastor Lee was promoted into eternal glory.

I praise God who made all of this possible for His glory!
